If you've been enjoying a complimentary Lyft Pink All Access membership with your Chase Sapphire Reserve® for the last couple of years, it's time to turn off auto-renewal — or expect to pay for the ride-hailing service benefit.

TPG senior editorial director Nick Ewen enrolled in the benefit when it first came out. He recently received an email notifying him of a renewal charge since he's entering his third year of membership.

So, our advice to those who have already taken advantage of the perk is to turn off auto-renew before the membership expires to avoid being charged 50% of Lyft Pink's regular rate, $99.50, for the next year.

Here's what to know and what Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders should do to avoid paying for the perk.

Expiring: Lyft Pink benefit on Chase Sapphire Reserve

Lyft Pink All Access, which typically costs $199 a year, is the ride-hailing service's top-tier membership. Since 2022, Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders have had the ability to enroll for two years of Lyft Pink All Access at no cost and a third year at a 50% discount.

Among other Lyft benefits, some of Lyft Pink's highlights include complimentary priority pickup, free 45-minute classic bike rides in participating cities, exclusive pricing options and free Grubhub+ for a year.

If you haven't enrolled for two years of free Lyft Pink with your Chase Sapphire Reserve, you have until Dec. 31 to register.

But if you're already enjoying this benefit, make sure to turn off auto-renewal in your Lyft app to avoid paying for it after your complimentary two years have ended.

How to turn off Lyft Pink All Access auto-renewal

If you have previously enrolled in Lyft Pink through your Chase Sapphire Reserve, make sure your auto-renew is turned off in your Lyft app to avoid the $99.50 auto-renewal for the service when the complimentary period ends.

First, go to your Lyft app and navigate to the Lyft Pink membership page.

Then, select "Manage plan" and find when your Lyft Pink All Access membership is set to expire.

Bottom line

If you're a Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholder, ensure your Pink All Access renewal is turned off in your Lyft app so you aren't charged once the free perk ends.

It's important to note that Chase may end up extending its partnership with Lyft like it did with DoorDash this summer. But until then, the safe move is to turn off auto-renewal in your Lyft app to avoid being charged.
