Among our favorite travel rewards and business credit cards, a cobranded hotel business card can sometimes fall through the cracks. But if your travels include Hilton properties, even occasionally, you should consider The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card for your next card.

Within the Hilton portfolio, the Hilton Honors Business Amex is most similar to the personal Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card. They have similar benefits, but the Hilton Honors Business Amex has some business-specific bonus categories and benefits that small-business owners will find attractive.

The Hilton Honors Business Amex has an annual fee of $195 (see rates and fees).

Right now, new cardmembers can earn 175,000 bonus points after spending $8,000 on purchases in the first six months of cardmembership. Offer ends Jan. 8, 2025.

Let's explore five reasons you should consider adding this card to your wallet.

Straightforward bonus categories

As expected, the Hilton Honors Business Amex earns bonus points on Hilton purchases: 12 points per dollar spent on purchases made directly with hotels and resorts in the Hilton portfolio.

According to TPG's November 2024 valuation, Hilton Honors points are worth 0.6 cents each, making this is an impressive 7.2% return on your Hilton purchases.

Beyond Hilton properties, though, the Hilton Honors Business Amex earns bonus points on other purchases. Cardmembers will earn 5 points per dollar in spending on the first $100,000 in purchases per calendar year and 3 points per dollar thereafter.

If you're looking for a business card that doesn't have a lot of categories to track, this is a great choice.

Hilton statement credit

The Hilton Honors Business Amex offers cardmembers up to $240 in statement credits toward eligible Hilton purchases each calendar year.

It's important to note that this benefit is broken up into up to $60 in statement credits for eligible Hilton purchases each quarter. If you stay frequently with Hilton, maximizing this benefit is easy.

If you take full advantage of this benefit, you'll get positive value from your Hilton Honors Business Amex each year. Eligible Hilton purchases include stays booked directly through Hilton and incidental charges, such as on-property restaurants and spas.

Incidental charges must be charged to your room to qualify. Terms apply.

Even though TPG managing editor for credit cards Matt Moffitt might not stay at a Hilton property every quarter, he still maximizes his credit by buying a Hilton gift card online.

Gold status

You'll get automatic Hilton Honors Gold elite status with the Hilton Honors Business Amex. With this level of status, you'll receive an 80% points bonus on paid Hilton stays, complimentary water at every stay, a fifth night free on award stays, space-available room upgrades, a food and beverage credit and more.

To achieve Gold status without the Hilton Honors Business Amex, you must stay 40 nights, complete 20 stays or accumulate 75,000 Hilton base points in a calendar year.

Alternatively, you can achieve Gold status by having the Hilton Honors Amex Surpass. Enrollment is required and terms apply.

Extended warranty and purchase protection

When you use your Hilton Honors Business Amex, you'll feel great knowing your valuable business purchases are protected. Your card allows you to extend your eligible purchase's warranty by one year.* This extended warranty is only available for covered purchases with a warranty of five years or less.

Additionally, suppose your item is stolen or accidentally damaged within the first 90 days of your purchase date. In that case, you can rest easy knowing you're covered for up to $1,000 per occurrence (up to $50,000 per cardmember, per calendar year).*

*Eligibility and benefit levels vary by card. Terms, conditions and limitations apply. Visit americanexpress.com/benefitsguide for details. Policies are underwritten by AMEX Assurance Company.

No impact on Chase 5/24 status

Whenever you get a new credit card, you might think about how it will affect your Chase 5/24 standing. In addition to its Hilton benefits and business expense management tools, a great perk is that the Hilton Honors Business Amex won't count in your Chase 5/24 calculations.

That's because Chase considers business cards separately from personal cards when calculating 5/24. So, if you're currently at 4/24, you can get the Hilton Honors Business Amex and still be eligible for a Chase card.

Bottom line

In addition to its simple earning categories, the Hilton Honors Business Amex comes with Hilton Honors Gold elite status, up to $240 in statement credits each calendar year for eligible Hilton purchases (up to $60 each quarter) and purchase protection. Furthermore, getting the card doesn't affect your Chase 5/24 standing.

With these perks on the table, adding the Hilton Honors Business Amex to your business card strategy is an excellent move.
