While you may associate Capital One with its fixed-value rewards, allowing you to redeem your points for statement credits or to offset travel purchases, there is another way to use your miles that can provide greater value.

In recent years, Capital One miles have gained additional transfer partners and improved the transfer ratios of others, becoming a strong transferable rewards currency.

If you've dreamt of a round-the-world ticket, you can use Capital One miles to book your journey with Cathay Pacific (for Oneworld Airlines) and Aeromexico (for SkyTeam Airlines). I've paid 185,000 Asia Miles for a business-class itinerary departing Los Angeles and stopping in South Korea, Vietnam, Pakistan, Iran and Israel before returning home.

It's also worth paying attention to Flying Blue Promo Rewards. These are discounted award redemptions on Air France and KLM, rotating monthly and offering incredible value on both intra-Europe and long-haul flights.

You can transfer miles from your business card to the same partners mentioned above. Personal and business credit cards from Capital One use the same partners for transferable miles.

Bottom Line

TPG's August 2024 valuations mark Capital One miles at 1.85 cents apiece, thanks to its list of transfer partners and the value they can provide. You can use these miles across multiple hotel and airline programs, even leveraging airline partnerships to book flights for airlines that aren't Capital One transfer partners. Multiple Capital One credit cards earn transferable miles. The earning rates, benefits and welcome bonuses vary by card, so look through the list above to find the one that's right for you.
